Research Team Edgardo Cheb-Terrab Edgardo S. Cheb-Terrab holds a PhD in Theoretical Physics (1992) and is professor in the Physics Institute of the State University in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is currently working for the CECM (MITAC project) and for Waterloo Maple Inc and is Editor in the field of algebraic manipulation for "Computer Physics Communications".
He started using symbolic computation for tackling problems in plasma
physics, general relativity and quantum theory (see his publication list. Since 1997, he has been the main author of the ordinary and partial differential equation programs (exact solutions) of the Maple computer algebra system.
Edgardo is currently developing software projects in the area of mathematical physics for
He is also working in alternative educational strategies exploring symbolic computation.
